But when you have family in the midst of wildfires, you can't help it.
Of course, then you hear from them three days later and find out they were kicking back and having fun in Las Vegas... yeah. I was so relieved that she was safe that I decided not to strangle her.
More and more people that I know in the area are checking in and are all okay. As awful as this has been so many have been lucky. My heart goes out to those who are still in danger and who have lost things in the fires.

Glad people are ok and i'm ashamed at the behaviour of some of the euros on the EQ2 forums. I think people sometimes don't realise how bad things like this get when they aren't involved, it's just another picture in the newspaper or a video on the news these days to many and the world should carry on regardless.

The Euros ranting on the forums was unjustified, particularly since the British news for days was along the lines of ..."ZOMG FIRE!! CALIFORNIA BURNS"!
It was probably the news item that took up mist of our airtime for a few days. Those who didn't know about it obviously didn't have TVs... or were unable to peel themselves away from their pwnage long enough to notice.
Very sad.
